I’ve decided that I don’t make enough videos and seeing as I have Camtasia Studio and a pretty awesome WebCam, So I figured it is almost a waste it sitting on my PC doing nothing. So I decided that over the next month I will be creating a video and uploading it to YouTube and discussing one aspect of my business everyday only for a few minutes a day and hopefully by the end of it, you will get a feeling about me, my ethics and how I run my business.

The first video is about my site www.dannycutts.com and just basic talk you through a few things on the site about what I do and what the site aims to achieve and explains a little on how I aim to help you, the reader.

I am a big dreamer I have always been a dreamer. When I was at school I would always be staring out of the window dreaming about money normally and what I would buy! You see even from a young age I have loved money my life has been ruled by having money it’s a strange thing but I just don’t know why!

I have recently been thinking about what the differences is between having a dream and having a fantasy. Now some people will instantly think they are same thing however I really don’t think they are. We all dream and we day dream about things but they are not our dreams. I may be getting a little confusing now so I will give you an example.

I have a fantasy of winning the lottery and I now that I am not the only one yet I never buy a lottery tickets so how am I going to win the lottery without actively trying to achieve that! You see winning the lottery to me is a fantasy its just never going to happen. However if I started doing the lottery and then that fantasy now becomes a dream because I am now doing something that will actually help me get to that dream. Do you see where I am coming from now?

When I was at school we had to write down what we wanted to do my friends wrote things like army, plumber banker some of the girls wrote marry a rich man (which is kinder funny) I wrote down and I quote “I WANT TO BE THE BOSS” now this was seen to the teacher at the time as being offensive and disruptive to the class I am not sure how so but apparently it was and I got a detention for it.

That was my dream when I was at school the teacher did not know how to handle that and give me the advice I needed so I got detention those members of the class that wrote things down like plumber or carpenter were introduced to the apprenticeship scheme and those who wanted to join the army were shown how to apply ect but for me what did I get? Detention!!

Anyway back on the topic. So having a dream is something that you actively work towards and a fantasy is something that you don’t work towards. My dream when I was younger was to be the boss I just needed to figure out in what area which to be honest if the teachers realised this maybe they could have pushed me towards an entrepreneurship degree or similar but no.

You see dreams back then are a still vivid now to me I knew exactly what I wanted in life nothing more nothing less these were my dreams they were not fantasies as a lot of people thought this is what I was going to achieve!

Today I am going to look in to making sure that your wordpress site is optimised for the sesrch engines and by doing these basic things you will only improve your search engine rankings.

When you create your blog title make sure that you include your main keyword in it. Try and make it into a compelling title that not only keeps the search engines happy but also makes your reader want to read on.

When you create your wordpress site you should have already installed the “all in one SEO” plugin its free to install and its by far the best wordpress SEO plugin that I know.

When All In One SEO Plugin has been installed you need to make sure that you set the home page title, description and the keywords. Like before you need to make sure that the home page title and description have your main keywords in them. Also you need to try and get some of your other keywords in there to

Make sure to include your main keyword in all of the fields that allow…

When Creating Your Content:

When you write your content for your site you need to make sure that your posts are 400 words or more and make sure that you include your main keyword and also related keyword throughout the posts as this gives the search engines the Latent symantic indexing (LSI) it was looking for.

Some people say to include your keyword once every hundred words but I like to just write my articles and then tweak them afterwards as I feel that the reader is more important than the search engines. I also aim for about 3% keyword density, other gurus reckon 1% but once again there is no definitive answer.

You need to make sure that sprinkle related search terms throughout your article and you can use the google keyword tool to find such keywords relating to your main keyword.

Backlink Building:

I have spoke about back link building in the past and its importance, I have even written a book on it which you can get here…

Working Man’s Web Domination

In my opinion any link is worth having, whether it is a do fllow or a no follow a backlink is a backlink. Some experts only get do follow links but to me this seems a little un-natural so I like to get a mixture. The one thing I d try and do though is only get links from sites that have a page rank rating of more than one as this gives me the certainty that the site is liked by google and also the higher the page rank of the site you are linking from the better for you as you get a lot of credibility from the links.

This is just a basic guide to SEO on wordpress, I will be going into a lot of detail over the coming weeks. But these are the basics and if you are not doing these yet then I would consider looking at them and starting right away.SEO is one of the most important factors of having a website online and you would not believe the amount of people who don’t do any SEO what so ever and they look surprised when their site does not appear in google and they are not making millions of pounds a day online.

What exactly is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the single fastest growth industry on the Internet to date. It’s also true that affiliate marketing is one of the fastest and most creative ways to make money and have a career on the Internet. This is why I started, it was easy for me to get started and it did not take much money to start up and so it meant right at the start of the internet I could get going.

As simply as I can put it, affiliate marketing is selling products on a commission basis. You own a business that advertises and sells products for other companies. Which means you are the middle man to many businesses. The things that a successful affiliate marketer must have are:

1. Your website is the jumping off point of all your marketing efforts. So the first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. You must build a user-friendly website, which will attract your prospects and motivate them to click on the links to the products and services you are promoting and make a purchase. There are companies whose business is building websites that you can hire to build one for you.

Having the support of your family would be nice when you start out in affiliate marketing but like most people who want to start making money online you probably will get seen as ripping people off and everything you do is a scam…

I was sat down by my parents at the age of 15 and told that I was wasting my time and that I wont make any money online people like us don’t get rich like that. I proved them wrong in a very big way, they now get to see the fruits of my efforts and are often singing my praises to people they meet…

Affiliate marketing is getting more and more competitive now that people are starting to realise that it is one of the easiest ways to make money online especially as you don’t need to be creative enough to create your own products you just promote already selling products and services which already have a great track record.

I have made my name in affiliate marketing promoting companies like ebay, amazon, hostgator and of course clickbank products. One very important thing you shoould do though when you promote anything and that is to actually believe in the product you are promoting and if you don’t like what you promote then it will become very obvious to the readers and visitors to your site that oyu really don’t believe in your own product.

I will be discussing more and more about affiliate marketing as the weeks go on as I feel that I have a lot to give and that you can a learn a lot by what I have to say.

Graphics for a lot of people, is what makes or breaks a site and if your graphics are rubbish, and your logos are a bad quality then it will let your site down and in most cases, it will affect your conversion rates, which means less money for you.

I’ve been working online for over 12 years now, and I generally have a good idea of what headers and logos work for what sites, which puts me in a good position to create my own headers and logos. However, sometimes I’ve found that I have an idea I can’t get it down on paper and so this is when I called in the experts. I came across Logo Nerds a few years ago on the warrior forum, and I’ve been using them and recommending them ever since.

When I create my own logos, graphics, I use fireworks CS5. Now this software for me has been fantastic and the reason why I use it is because it’s what I learnt to use many years ago. I know a lot of people prefer PhotoShop but for me, I use fireworks and I love it.

What I like about Logo Nerds is that they are efficient, and their prices are very reasonable. I have put them through their paces. Many times before with little changes and amendments to logos and graphics and they never complained once about the amount of revisions and tweaks that I wanted. I’ve used them to create business cards for my company Davlic Media, and I always get a great response when it comes to handing out those cards and I often get asked who designed my logo.

I also create websites for local businesses as a bit of a sideline to my affiliate marketing efforts and instead of me having to go and create logos and headers. I just refer my clients directly to Logo Nerds, which worked out brilliant for me as I don’t have to worry about all the to-ing and fro-ing of changes and amendments, and it means I can simply get on and build the site and work on the SEO of the site, which is what I’m being paid for.

Logo Nerds really are a great company, and I will be using them for a very long time to come.

What have my feeling been on this week?

Well I started the week off heading to my uncles garage where I kinder have an office there, that’s where I have meetings when I need them as although I have a home business I don’t really want to bring clients and bank managers to my home so the office space above one of the units that my uncle owns acts as a nice office.

The other thing about having an office away from my normal place of work is that I actually get out the house and I get to see people, and as everybody is netpreneur will know that you don’t get out a great deal and you kinder start shying away from the outside world.

So on Monday I was at the garage but I was actually plastering again… yes as I have mentioned in previous posts and that is that they are building a training room and well seeing as I am a top class plasterer I get the job of making sure that the walls are all good for the painters.

So the rest of the week I have been working on sites for my offline clients, I don’t have a huge client base as that is not the business model that makes me money but it is something I do to help friends and family out and then who they refer to me as well.

I have been building a shop for one client which has sapped a lot of time out of my week not by any fault of the clients just that I am trying to do it using wordpress and so keeping it easy. Its been a bit of a nightmare and I would not recommend ShopperPress for anything, in fact I am pretty disappointed with the whole product and also their DirectoryPress is also pretty pants, even the new beta version that is coming out is not up to scratch either.

However today I finally got the shop finished and also I managed to find time to create the invoice and get that sent

The rest of the week between doing the shop I have been looking at wordpress themes and seeing how I can up my design game as I am getting more and more offline clients and the money is pretty good. Especially as all my affiliate marketing site are all fully automated so I really don’t have to do much so the offline stuff fills the weeks. But I have found though that my designs are getting boring and very samey which is fine for the client because its the first time they would have seen one of my designs however for me I don’t have as much pride in my work, which is not a great sign.

So I started looking for some themes and I came across Studiopress, now these themes are pretty elaborate and they have some pretty awesome designs and they seem to have a great framwwork called the Genesis framework which seems to be mega flexible.

Well after a couple of hours of umming and arrring I decided to bite the bullet and buy them, when I say them, I actually mean them, I could not decide which themes I wanted so I bought every single one of them and $250 later I was a little worried that I may have wasted some money.

After 10 mins of searching and playing with a demo wordpress install I was in love with the ease of the templates and they are so customisable that I was actually shocked at what I could now easily achieve.

I have picked out 5 new basic themes that will make good sites for all my latest clients and with a bit of tweeking I could make them all different again. I have even found a theme for my main company site www.davlicmedia.com that I have left dormant for a long time as I have been so busy building affiliate sites and running forums and travelling… must not forget about travelling.

So I overall I am really happy with Studiopress and I will be seeing how far I can take the designs in the next few months and hopefully they will be a great asset, in fact they have already paid for them selves so I am happy.

The other thing I bought just yesterday was the Amazon Kindle.

I am pretty shrewd with money, I try not to waste it as I did that a few years ago and now I just really decide if I want something before I actually buy it, I know longer impulse buy as I rather spend the money on travelling or whatever.

So the Amazon kindle is an ebook reader and seeing as most of the books I read I have to print out to read the Kindle really did begin to appeal to me and the last time we went travelling I took nearly 8KG’s of books with me which when you are trying to travel light 8kg’s is a lot of weight to have in just books.

I headed over to PC World on Thursday to take a look at the kindle because I had never actually seen one in the flesh so I want to make sure that it is what I wanted. Well I was gob smacked, the display is somewhat awesome, actually thought the screen was a sticker it looked so much like a paper it was untrue. That for me was the seller!

So on Saturday I took the plunge and did not order one but I decided to order Jane one as well because I think she showed an interest in getting but being a student she is not really in a position to go spending money…

I am really looking forward to them coming and hopefully they will be here by Wednesday. I have not heard a bad thing about the kindle so I will be keen at seeing what its really like.

I also spent even more money this week on an SEO course by Sean Donahue, I know a lot about SEO and I don’t call my self a guru but I would call myself an expert so I am always keen to see what other peoples ideas and angles are on the subject.

I was quite impressed with what I watched and there are some pretty awesome strategies that I can not see failing, I will be trying them out in the coming weeks. I also found some crazy good plugins that I will be testing a lot to see if they actually make a difference to SEO.

That’s about my week really, not incredibly exciting but that is the day and life of a full time internet marketer

However, doing less work for me is not about making less money, in fact its the very opposite its about making more money for less effort. I can sit in front of my laptop for 12 hours a day but I am not going to achieve a great deal because I am physically not always working.

So this week I have implemented a few of the things that Tim has outlined and I am already seeing a vast improvement on my productivity. I no longer check emails every 10 mins I don’t go to my forums every hour to catch up on posts.

My email is set to send an auto response saying I will only be checking mail at 12:00 and 16:00 if its important then call me. This means that I can actually focus on the tasks that are important and do them in priority order rather than trying to keep on top of “everything”.

When I was plastering full time I still managed to run my online business effectively because I knew that I only had 2 hours to get things done, and even though I work online full time I don’t actually want to be sat in front of my laptop for 40 hours a week.

Yes I am pretty flexible, last week I decided I wanted to take a week off and I did, I just got my out sourcers to do a bit more and I just handled the important tasks, which in reality was the thick end of nothing as everything can be put off.

So we shall see how this pans out…. So far every week I have worked less and got the same amount done as the previous week which is not too bad… so in theory I should be doing a whole lot less for a whole lot more cash.

So going off subject a bit, but I had a phone call from my bank manager and if I ever saw a chap work so hard to ensure his customers were happy then Mark is the guy! He phoned me to tell me that he has me another SEO client which is pretty awesome. Mark has seen what my capabilities are when I get my hands on a small business and he has already done the pre selling for me.

So that hour long meeting with mark a few months back is already paying off and hopefully we can find a few more clients like this as this is really mega money. In fact its most likely going to take me to my next earning goal.

You may think its funny or odd that I am taking on new clients when I am trying to do less work and in reality I prefer affiliate marketing but the truth is I cant say no and the only real work I am going to have to do is attend a meeting (wearing a suit…. YUK!!) and find out what is needed and then go and build a plan for my team of out sourcers to follow and then I just have to get the wheels in motion and it all works

That’s all I have to say today, not that exciting but still I can be bothered to write much more

All my life I have been told that business is a numbers game and I always new this was right, even when I was a kid and I would go door knocking to get cars to wash I new the more peoples doors I would knock on the more I would likely to earn.

I would get up nice and early every day and get my shammy leather ready my buckets and off I would go to and just go to every house and work my way round.

This week I have just started to realise that the internet is not any different, I know that the more traffic a site can get the more money it is likely to earn, however a site is only ever like to earn a certain amount of money.

Now you must be thinking how do you mean?

Well I have a site that is targeting a pretty small niche and I know that even if every visitor that is available on google clicks and buys the product its only worth X amount…. sounds obvious right?

Well this week I was looking at all my big money sites and I have worked out that not one of the actual sites is going to enable me to retire at 30 however the collection of the big money sites earning what they are earning means that I will be more likely to retire.

So the last few days I decided to think about how many sites I own actually show a profit at the end of the year.

Can you guess what the figures are?

I own around 60 domain names and out of those sites only about 15 sites are actually money makers and whats more interesting is that its only the last 10 sites that I have built in the last year or so that have shown a good profit.

So I was thinking today that its going to take a lot more work to get those 15 sites earning more money than they already are and the time its going to take to get them earning more I could just build another 15 sites and hope that a few of them make a profit.

You see that I say hope

I never assume a site will make money as no matter how much research I do and no matter how much I know the market you can never be 100% sure you are on to a winner. I have had what I thought a solid chance of making me £500 – £1000 a month site and it has died a death and only made £20 a month.. yes they do bomb but they do make money so I tend to leave them unless they don’t make any money and start taking money out of my wallet.

So after all this ramblings I have decided that I need to knock out a few more sites a week up until I go away travelling then while I am away I can start just marketing them so I don’t actually have a great deal of work to get on.

So once again this business is definitely a numbers game and even if I can build a site that only makes £10 a month if I can build 10 of them approx 2 weeks work they will make me an extra £100 a month which is not big money but my business model is a hands free system so after 6 months my time is more than covered and then its pure profit!

Just a random post but I thought I would keep you updated in my though process.

I am not sure why it has taken me so long to get things done but it has, however I have actually quite enjoyed the day though. That’s the nice thing about small tasks the change of task in a short space of time is pretty good for morale and also the satisfaction of ticking things off your to do list is good for your mind.

Well as I write this I am doing the monthly back up of my laptop, I copy the whole thing across to an external hard drive and I then email a few of the important spreadsheets I have so that I can access them if I am on the move which is quite often.

I never use to really back things up but one day I lost a hell of a lot of work and well it set me back many months and I lost a lot of money and productivity so now the worst case is that I am a month behind… I know, I could back up at the end of every day but it does take quite a long time and in all honesty a monthly back up is pretty good.

I have also been chatting to a fellow marketer for most of the day, her name is Vanessa Reece is is pretty big in the coaching and business consulting niche. We have been doing quite a few skill swaps this week I have been helping with Amazon and affiliate conversions techniques while she explains how she helps small businesses get a marketing strategy that actually works.

Vanessa or “V” as she likes to be known is building a great name for herself in not only her town but in the internet marketing world. She has her on own show on the www.talkmarketingnow.com network and is sharing a lot of great tricks and idea.

Networking online is very important and building relationships is always beneficial to both parties as long as you don’t waste the time you do spend chatting as this is not very productive and quite frankly a waste of time. Remember that they are also trying to build a business so you are not only wasting your time but theirs as well

I have a site to build for a client this week I don’t normally whore myself out to web design but I its through a referral and I don’t like saying no, also it has everything to do with the money! So last night at about 3am I bought ShopperPress, I have not installed it yet but I think its going to be a pretty good plugin for wordpress and this should help my clients new site no end.

Sorry it’s been a long time since I posted but I have been frantically busy working on my own affiliate sites and also ensuring that my current SEO clients are getting the results that I have aimed for, which has meant me working a little bit more than I’d expected. So

I’ve simply had a tough time with finding time to write blog posts or even look at this site.

The main reason I’m writing to you today is because I came across a course that I simply cannot believe is this good.

I’ve seen a lot of make money online courses in the past and many of them are not worth the time it takes to go through them. But I have found something that is completely different and I have to say when i first took a glimpse of it I was shocked at actually how good it is, and also how bloody damn easy it is going to be to implement.

The course is called Mobile Money Bandit and is going to take mobile marketing to the next level. I have to say once again this is absolutely phenomenal.

Mobile money bandit is created by Justin Elenburg and is a very, very high quality product. I was one of the lucky few to get a sneak preview into into it and I’ve spent all of today going through the masses of videos and step-by-step tutorials on how to implement the system and get it making you money quickly and effectively.

Everyone has heard about CPA, PPC and also straight up affiliate marketing. However, the Mobile Money Bandit is all about pay per call marketing.

Justin Elenburg, who has created, worked on and refined the Mobile Money Bandit system to make over half $1 million in the last year has named this technique ‘tap ‘n’ talk’ marketing.

Just to show you some facts for Mobile Money Bandit;

For weeks I have been adding products manually to sites and making sure that it has good unique content and then the other day I thought that it was about time I spent some more money and I found Reviewazon. First things first I quite like it and I am not going to rush and start building sites using it I am going to set a site up and see how google likes it then I will make the decision on whether its worth pursuing. Oh and yes I will do a review of it when I get some results and yes whether it be good or bad.

The other thing I did this week was by an aquarium for my desk, for months I have to stare at walls and quite frankly it was bugging the crap out of me. So being a keen fisherman I figured it was a good call to see what tanks were available.

I found a tank that fitted perfectly into the space and although I was not bothered about how much it costs it was well under what I was expecting. So on Monday I spent the day washing the gravel and finding rocks and plants to put in it then the joyful task of carrying 40 litres of water up the stairs to fill the tank.

I am looking forward to having fish on my desk as I find them very relaxing and calming and also helps keep me focussed…

I have to wait a week before I can put fish in it but from the looks of it I reckon I could put my first pair in tomorrow. I think Jane is going to buy the first two then we will see how they go

Tomorrow I am heading to the theatre and going out for dinner in London as it was about time I took Jane out, I work far too much at the moment so taking days off every now and again keeps things sweet.

I have to move servers over the weekend which quite frankly worries me as there will be about 24 hours that my sites will be down for which is OK but I have some very busy forums that I really cant afford to lose members on however because a lot of the forums are based in the UK I am hoping that I can get it done over night and should hopefully not cause too much disruption.

My plans for the rest of the week is to finish a site for an offline client that I have and I am glad to say I wont be taking on any new clients ever again as quite frankly although the money is good I really am to lazy to keep them happy all the time. So once this site is finished I will get it ranking and fingers crossed not have to touch it again.

I am looking at a few new methods of making money online at the moment as well which I will of course go into detail a lot later on next year but it looks like it could be very interesting.

I am also quite pleased that an iPad is in the post on its way over to me complimentary of an affiliate company that I have been promoting for quite a number of years so not only a nice cheque every month but in December I should have a new cool gadget to play with.

So I went around and found a few clickbank products and went about writing some adwords adverts and started posting the ads up and well lets just say this I was hoping to retire.

Oh boy was I wrong, I was losing money hand over fist and I had know idea why. I mean I followed everything that the guru said and I was not making money!!

OK I lost a lot of money in fact if I was saying I lost £2k I would probably be underestimating. This is how I got into SEO as all be it was a much slower way to get traffic it was a much safer way and also very free.

Still to this day I don’t use PPC because I am pretty much scared of what money I could lose. However to be honest I don’t really need to know how to make money with PPC because I understand SEO pretty well now and with a small amount of work I can get a site ranking and normally n the front page of results in google.

My advice to anybody looking at doing PPC is to be very careful about how much money you spend and make sure you protect yourself against the losses and test test test

Today I am going to discuss a little about an offline business model that I have been dabbling with for a while and that is providing internet services to local businesses.

My fist client was a member of the family, he asked me for his opinion on a quote he had for a website redesign and search engine optimisation fee which is payable every month. Here are some of the figures the quote came back with.

• £3000 Site design including logo and header graphics

• £500 SEO set up fee

• £180 Per month SEO fee

So that seemed like a lot of money to me then I started reading the small print, the company could not guarantee that they could get my uncle into the search engines and could take 6 months before they would start seeing results… that’s £1080 and there was no promise of results!

I said Uncle give me a couple of weeks I will redesign the site and I WILL get it ranking. My uncle gave me a list of keywords he wanted to rank for and I was set to go.

A week passed and the new site was designed and uploaded the second week passed and we were in the search engines by the third week we were on the first page for 90% of the search terms then 2 weeks late we were in the top 3 for every term that they wanted and I had also hit a few other gems.

My uncle was ecstatic and he decided that I needed paying… I don’t normally charge family but he would not say no so every month I am paid a lovely chunk of change for getting and keeping a site in the search engines.

A year on and I have developed a full marketing strategy for them and their business is growing at an alarming rate of knots I have implemented a newsletter and special offers feature ect ect.

But whats funny about this the original company that quoted is now after my services as they are shocked as to how quick I was able to get a site ranking and the results they said where what his clients were after.

I now do a bit of consulting for him and a few other companies, I am pretty picky as to who I consult for and when a new client comes a long they have to convince me that I should work with them I dont have to do any selling at all and I can pretty much name my price.

The local business niche is by far a massive niche and there are a lot of tactics out there that you can use to get offline clients and build a great SEO consulting and web design company yourself.

What I like about the local business market is that its not full of internet marketers and so getting any site ranking is an absolute doddle… I can literally get a site on the first page at the top in less than a week and not only that it stays at the top.

Over the last few months I have been doing a bit of site design for members of one of my forums as I was getting hacked off with them being ripped off by other so called designers and search engine experts. If i want to make an extra £2k this week I will simply email my list and I will have that money exceptionally quick!

That is the local business cash machine!

I just needed to make extra money, I was fed up with actually working for a living fed up with getting up early being bossed around it did my head in.

I discovered Bill Myers when I was about 16 I read it and watched the videos so many times I had some great ideas but my computer skills lacked the degree of skill to make a physical product and I just couldn’t afford to post 1000 sales letters.

I then started reading eBooks and started to see people making some serious money and there sites were simple and effective. So I found a nice fruit machines eBook that just needed re writing and made prettier. I did it in word and managed to get a copy of adobe acrobat to convert it to PDF format I was chuffed I had made my first product.

The next hurdle I had to over come was the fact I had no idea about web design nothing and the next stage was for the important bit actually selling the product. So after a lot of research I cobbled together a very simple website all hand coded in notepad and I used a free hosting and domain name, jesus it was rubbish!

I then started going to forums and talking about gambling and well started pushing my product I sold a lot. I can still remember to this day my first sale the excitement the thrill it was just an absolute adrenlin rush. There was one night that I sold 5 or so of them I thought I was going to retire within a few weeks.

I started making a good steady residual income from one site this is when I started to realise what worked.

I was building a kit car at the time and I needed some information and due to the kit car I was building there was just no information so I started a forum up and well the manufacturer of the kit car started to tell people about it and well it grew from there.

The manufacturer gave me the rights to redesign the build manual an sell it and I could keep the profits…. perfect!! So now I had a website and a forum with a good stream of traffic! I kept building and writing and building and now my site is a leading website in the buggy industry and we have gone from just a little owners club to now a big owners club with club stands and great website where I have advertisers paying me each month and manuals being sold.

I am not going to lie I never use to do any backlinking I never really needed to I always managed to get fantastic search engine rankings from just good keyword selection and just generally brilliant on page SEO. However over the last few years i have noticed a need to do a bit more to get my sites ranking and well backlinking is definitely the way I like.

So where do yoet backlinks from?

Well, if you can find a place to leave your domain name that is a backlink…. that’s pretty much it in its most simplest form!

However there is a lot of tactics you can employ to get the most out of your backlinks. The first thing is try and get your Link on a related site, say for example you are in the Forex industry so ideally you want lots of links point from different foxex sites this would give google a good indication that you are an authority site in the forex industry.

Secondly you want your anchor text to be related to your niche so keeping with the forex niche you would have a forex keyword like “easy forex” as your anchor text. This is basically telling the search engines what you should find if you follow that link.

There are many ways in which you can get backlinks and find them I cheated and bought 5000 Backlinks which is a package of 5000 Backlinks and every day I grab a selection and post post comments on blogs or create forum profiles.

After many attempts at trying to copy the success with other eBooks from different backgrounds ranging from property eBooks to sex eBooks I was struggling to find sales. I was now buying ebook after ebook and trying to make a living.

I was buying courses on how to make money online and none of actually told me anything I didn’t already know they would just say, if you sold 10 eBooks at $7 everyday you would make $70 a day, $490 a week, $1960 a month, $23520 a year, and thats with only with one product, just imagine the possibilites if you had 2, 3, or 10 bla bla bla.

The trouble was I believed them. I didn’t really look into how I was going to sell these amounts I knew it was possible but I just couldn’t see how it was going to be done.

I soon discovered the Warrior Forum and started asking questions a lot of questions in fact and I started to share my findings and I soon began to realise that I was out of my league by a long way. These guys new how to produce good looking website good sales copy and products that sold I could not really do any of the above and decided that now was a time to start learning from the beginning again.

I however didn’t give up it took a lot of time up and my friends thought I was nuts and was scamming old ladies out of money as this is the impression people got when I told them I worked online.

Sorry once again that I’ve not posted in awhile. I’ve been very busy with new affiliate sites and some of my SEO clients have got me working quite hard. I’m not complaining though, as it has been pretty good few weeks and hopefully it is going to continue.

I’m writing today about a nifty little website I found, when I say little, It’s not actually it’s massive and I can’t believe I’ve not found it sooner. However, I’m going to show you what this website is about.

It’s called Webmaster Radio and is exactly that, a radio station for Webmasters it is packed full of information from SEO to social media, to creating content or  affiliate marketing. I’ve been listening to it for pretty much two days solid now and I love it. I can’t believe I’ve missed this for such a long time.

I normally just listen to normal terrestrial radio and in the UK this happens to be BBC Radio One. However, over the last few weeks I’ve got very bored of it as it is being very repetitive and quite frankly the news is quite depressing. So on my quest to find something else to listen to I came across Webmaster Radio.

I’ve learnt a lot already about pay per click marketing and also just simple social media marketing tactics that I never even considered before, so I reckon that this radio station will be playing constantly my PC for the next few months and probably a lot longer if it keeps up producing great content.

To keep ahead of the game in our industry you have two keep up-to-date with current affairs, whether it’s about the Google algorithm change or new FTC laws. It’s very important that you know all of this and keep your finger on the pulse. But trying to do this from reading blogs and posts it is almost a full time task and spending your whole life reading sites is not actually going to get any work done and I found I simply don’t have the time to do it…

I used to watch a lot of videos online and since I’ve had dual screens it has made things a lot easier. But you don’t really focus on the task you’re trying to do whether it’s build an affiliate site to SEO for a client because you find your self watching the screen and not really working, so having the radio playing on in the background means that you can really work hard on your projects while still listening to gurus and experts talk about what they know best…. Marketing!!!

So as you can tell I’m really impressed with Webmaster Radio and I will be staying tuned in for a long time yet.

The word ‘niche’ is defined as: “A special area of demand for a product or service”. ‘Marketing’ is defined as: “The opportunity to buy or sell”. If you put the two works together, niche marketing means buying or selling a product or service in a special area of demand. All that really means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most interested in that particular product or service and not to the world in general.

Oftentimes big businesses use niche marketing. For example, a company that makes computers and computer accessories might advertise all-in-one copy/printer/scanners to the home computer user while at the same time advertising single function machines to large businesses.

One of the things that make niche marketing so attractive to sellers is that their advertising budgets go further. It costs less to advertise to a specialized market than it does to advertise to a broader market.

MY whole online empire has been built on using niche marketing. I have been working on a strategy that has helped me identify niches quite quickly and easily especially when I am building Amazon affiliate stores. I dont like leaving anything to chance any more so everything I do is calculated.

Firstly, with every site I build I always have a an action plan for it… every single site! So before I even turn my laptop on I know what I am doing. What categories the site will have what products the lay out ect ect.

I will then look at each stage and draw a checklist up of what needs doing and then I will set a deadline for when I want the whole site completed. I will then split each of teh tasks up and decide what needs to be done. This becomes my to do list.

The trouble is I tend to not want to spend a whole day on just one project as I do get bored even if I am do9ing the most exciting niche sites I will get bored. So I split my day up into more interesting jobs and I will probably work on 3 different sites every day.

The other thing i do is I dont check my mail till later on in the day as I have found I am more productive in the morning that I am in the afternoon so I try and get the bulk of my tasks done before 12 and then the afternoon I will work on the less taxing of tasks like twitter and checking email.

So to increase productivity I have a plan and a to do list and every single day I have to work through my plan and I dont stop until I have hit the days targets. I only play when I have hit the targets so if I decide that I want to go for a beer tuesday night my work has to be done.

Having the lists and plans is what i use to keep me focussed and I beleive that it is these plans that make more productive and I can hit my goals a lot easier.

I soon found that I was tired all the time because I wanted more money so I would work more hours it sounds simple really but when your school work starts lagging and your asleep in class more than your awake things need to change.

The school phoned my parents telling them I was sleeping and that it was not acceptable for me to be working all the hours god sends they said that although they understand I am a very determined person and it would be difficult to stop me.

I was there till I was 18 years old on and off, I started what I thought was the career I wanted to be in, I saw the owner of the restaurant as a role model he drove the cars I liked he rarely did a days work and he always smiled.

Not many people like the owner but we clicked he liked my ideas and he could tell I idolised him and his wife. Being very young at the time I though that catering was all fancy and the best industry. Things soon started to change I worked my way up through the ranks working all hours god sends and still never really having any money to speak of.

All my friends were going to university while I was busting my balls in a kitchen never really enjoying my youth. I went back to college and finished my a levels and made some cracking friends and it was here I had a real passion for making money and owning my own business was definitely something that I wanted to do.

Time soon moved on and I was still in the catering industry now I was out of the kitchen and working the floor as a waiter I could earn £100 in cash tips a day and even then I didn’t realise that that was a good wage… I wanted more and more I was earning £40k a year carrying plates for a living….

6 Years on I no longer have any competitors and we have a community that is thriving and is still growing at an alarming rate. We have just short of 4000 members and the forum up till today has over 152,000 posts.

I have always worked hard to grow the forum and with the help of the members we are a recognised organisation that has the power in the niche to make big changes to not only the UK industry but worlds industry.

We get threatened with legal action often and earlier this year that was no different, our members opened up a bag of works which was a company that was offering work in Russia and for £800 you could be over there earning £6K a month…

Our members went into in-depth research and established that it was a scam and not one person that the company had received money from had actually made it across to Russia let alone had made any money.

The thread on the forum started to gain strength in Googles search results and before long we own the first page of the results and had actually knocked the the company off google for their own company name.

I received an email which told me that they were going to sue me for defamation and libel… I responded to the email with a phone a call and told the receptionist that if it was not a scam to prove t me first that it was not and then with the proof I would happily remove the thread…. she could not the thread stayed…

I told my members of the developments and the risk of legal action and they kicked off and contacted 3 national newspapers and a national radio station… We made the papers and the radio and within a week of the report the company shut down. It was a victory and proved very very good for our forum.

Since then the forum has re-branded and we are now taking the industry to new lengths, we have been approached by top manufacturers in the niche and we are the official reviewers and we now do all the product research for the company where our members are given freebies in exchange for reviews and suggestions.

Last year I was offered a large sum of money to sell the forum and I declined.. Am I mad? The large sum was in to the tens of thousands of pounds… I could have easily have sold up and re invested the money into other projects but I have not even scratched the surface with this forum and I think that I am going to make the most money in a few more years. I am in this for the long term!!

So how come my forum is the success and has grown so much and so quickly?

I listen to the members and gave them what they wanted… I watched many forums in this niche disappear as they got greedy and tried making money out of the members and that is a bad idea.. I don’t charge my members for them to participate I charge the companies that benefit from my members.

I destroyed all of my competition right from the start I have had forums start up and just cant compete with us. My members respect me and what I have achieved, I have helped members grow their businesses and keep food on the plates of their loved ones.

I have banner slots on the sites and I have companies begging me for them to advertise on the site and most of the time I decline them as I don’t think that every advertiser is of benefit to the forum or in the good of the forums direction.

When you have a forum you need to set out clear direction and let the members do what they want and let them go in the direction they want… don’t fight them, accommodate their needs and if they want something do what you can to give them it. I funded the forum out of my own pocket for many years and I had to go begging to my members one year because I could not afford the hosting… but its was all worth it.

Forums are hard work and take a lot of time but boy are they rewarding… I went to a meeting at the launch of a new product and I did not realise how important I was to this products success but I got a standing ovation, I have made a big difference to an industry and I have become the voice that people not only hear but they listen

However I have been working on a new business model and it involves using CPA and product creation, its been been a long time since I created a digital product in fact my early days online I was creating digital products for money and they sold OK, but now I am doing things a little differently.

I found a pretty competitive niche using Market Samurai the other day and I could not resist buying the keyword rich domain name and getting started. I needed an ebook which I could give away on the subject and after a few hours of searching I discovered there was nothing around.

So I downloaded around 50 PLR articles on the subject and printed them all off and started highlighting what I thought were important and good facts. Once I had done this I then got my trusted note pad out and then sub headed it.

I then re read all the articles putting the points in the sub headings and suddenly I had a layout for an ebook on how to cure my problem.

All I have to do now is expand out each point a few graphics and affiliate links and its done… This at first has taken me a long time maybe 3 hours but I now know exactly how to do it.

Its simple and probably not rocket science or even a new method but I only worked it out this last week…lol

I have put to one side building Amazon and ebay shops for a few months while I work on my new CPA strategies as I have found that the few CPA sites I do have are making a lot of money and for the effort I am impressed with the CPA results.

Its been a while since i have posted I have been frantically working on a few pretty neat projects involving RSS feeds Blogger and a host of other interesting tactics. I will go into more detail of exactly what I have been doing in a few weeks when I get some cold hard facts in.

This post today is being written because the last few weeks i have been consistently over complicating tasks for no other reason than I thought I was beyond doing the simple ways after all I am a full time marketer… ok so I have been wrong and stupid the last few weeks.. but the last couple of days I have been building sites using a simple method and pretty much straight away I started seeing results and boy was I happy..

OK so this started making think about why we do things and why we stop doing the simple things. I mean when I first started I use to spend hours doing keyword research and looking for the perfect domain name and I would spend hours scouring forums posting advice and tips to drive traffic.

But these things have stopped, well not all of them but a lot of them and I started to think why?

Why don’t I go to forums and start posting advice to push my latest info product? I think its because it seems to easy and simple that I have over looked it. I am not going to lie I make a comfortable living from my online endeavors but still if i actually stopped messing with PHP code and trying to get things perfect and actually dropped back and did some simple promotion and actual marketing I might be in an even better position.

So this post is about the K.I.S.S. method…

Keep It Simple Stupid and basically this means do the simple things if they work and don’t over look them even if you think the task is below you now… ok now I am sounding arrogant but seriously don’t over look or over complicate things that don’t need to be.

If someone says go to blogger and start a blog don’t go to wordpress and start looking at domains… go to blogger!

I have realised the last few days that I need to go back to basics and this is going to be my focus for the next few weeks to see if I can increase my income even further by pursuing the little gems that I use to do when I was first starting out in internet marketing.
